Maximum number of players: 36 Masters Division players (no restriction on Senior/Junior Division players)
Pre-registration is highly recommended.

Registration takes place at the venue on the day of the tournament and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Players who are not in the registration queue the stated time; as well as players who arrive after the maximum number of players have been reached will not be registered.

Prizes:
All Championship Points (CP) earned will go towards qualifying for the 2020 Pokémon World Championships in London, Great Britain! Thorough the season, players who top their region in Championship Points may also earn fully paid trips or travel stipends from The Pokémon Company International to participate in overseas tournaments.

Championship points will be awarded according to placement within a player’s own age division. Prizes other than Championship Points to be updated

Participation Requirements:

• Participation Fee
• A legitimate Nintendo 3DS series console with the latest official firmware
•  A copy of Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon with the latest game patch
• A legal team to participate in the entire event with

TOURNAMENT RULES:
• Players will battle each other using the standard Play! Pokémon format – Double battles
• The 2019 Ultra Series World Championships Rules will be used. Players will battle using the game’s “Live Competition” feature. However, players should still download the “2019 Ultra Series World Championships Rules” from the Festival Plaza prior to attending the event.
• All Pokémon will be automatically set to Level 50 during battle.
• Players will construct a team of 6 Pokémon, and select 4 Pokémon to use in every battle. The same team must be used for the entire tournament.
• Players may use Pokémon from the National Pokédex, except those mentioned below, that are caught or hatched in the game or received at an official event or distribution.
• Players are allowed to have up to 2 of the following pokemon in their teams: Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma.
• The following Pokémon may not be on a player’s team: Ash-Greninja, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Magearna, Marshadow and any other Pokémon which have yet to be officially released ingame.
• A player’s team cannot contain two Pokémon with the same National Pokédex number
• Each Pokémon may hold an item, though no two Pokémon may hold the same item.
• All items from the Moon series restriction list, including: All mega stones, Ultranecrozium Z, Red Orb, Blue Orb, are ALLOWED in the Ultra Series.
• The following moves ARE ALLOWED in the Ultra Series Ruleset: Rayquaza with Dragon Ascent
• Players may only participate with Pokémon that have the black clover symbol on their status screen, indicating that the Pokémon was obtained in Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon.

• If one player was late to the match or was away from the match without a Judge’s permission for any period of time during the round, that player loses the match unless the Judge was made aware of this absence in advance of the end of the match.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
• The tournament will be run using a Swiss format.
• Every round, players will be paired up with a single opponent to battle against
• Swiss rounds are decided by a single battle
• All players will be able to play until the end of the Swiss rounds unless they choose to drop or are disqualified from the tournament.
• On top of the time limits the game automatically enforces, the organisers will enforce a time limit of 50 minutes per round as well. After this is reached, games still in progress will be allowed 3 more turns to conclude, and if they haven’t by then, tiebreakers will be applied by judges to determine the result.
• After the Swiss portion of the tournament is over, the top players (number determined by division attendance) by Swiss standings will advance to the Single Elimination stage to play for the top positions. Single Elimination rounds will take place on the same day.
• Every round in the Single Elimination stage will be decided by a Best-of-3 set of battles
• The same organiser-enforced time limit will be in effect during the Single Elimination stage

Age Divisions:

Junior Division: Born in 2009 or later
Senior Division: Born in 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008
Masters Division: Born in 2004 or earlier

Each age division will play separately. However, an age division with 5 or fewer players will be merged with other age divisions

[ Format: Age Modified Swiss ]
In this format, Players will have to play a number of Swiss rounds(Best of 1 or Best of 3) appropriate for the number of players in attendance. Players are paired against other players with the same, or similar, match record.
Depending on the age group of participants for this Tournament, the Tournament Organizer may separate the players into groups according to the Pokémon
Organized Play’s Age Division.

The age divisions for the 2020 season are as follows:

o Junior Division: Born in 2009 or later
o Senior Division: Born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
o Masters Division: Born in 2004 or earlier

Players participating are to pre-register as there will be a separate queue from the convention goers. Tags are pre-allocated based on pre-registration numbers.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
[ Category: GS Cup – Ultra Series ]
Players will engage in a Double Battle with Flat Rules with a team consisting of 6 Pokémon which fit the below requirement:
– Only Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon Game cartridges or eShop downloadable versions are permitted for use.
– Pokémon used must have a black clover symbol in the Pokémon Summary Screen. This indicates that the Pokémon was caught during regular gameplay, hatched from an Egg, obtained within the game, or was officially gifted in the Alola region.
– Players CANNOT use any Pokémon that are not caught in Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon
– All Pokémon from National Pokédex No. 001 through 807 are allowed, with the following restrictions:
1) All forms of Mew, Diancie, Deoxys, Jirachi, Celebi, Manaphy, Phione, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Hoopa and Volcanion, Zeraora and Marshadow are banned
2) Players may only include two of the following Pokémon in their teams: Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma.
– Players may use Pokémon with Hidden Abilities.
– Species Clause: No two Pokémon on a player’s team can share the same Pokédex number.
– Players will be have their selected Battle Teams locked via QR code prior to the start of the tournament
– Players may use moves and items that have been officially released via Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon Pokémon Global Link, or an official event or promotion.
– Item Clause: No two Pokémon on a player’s team can hold the same held item
– For the Ultra Series, all moves and items obtainable through normal gameplay are permitted. This means all Z-Crystals, Mega Stones, Blue Orb and Red Orb are allowed
– Rayquaza may now know the move Dragon Ascent.
– The following time limit must be adhered:
Your Time: Max 7 minutes
Selection Time: Each Trainer gets 90 seconds to select Pokémon.
Turn Time: Each Trainer gets 45 seconds to select an action each turn.
